What They've Been Up to: Exploring the various cities and also working and just keeping herself very busy. Trying to forget that her wedding is tomorrow and her husband is not here for it/she's missing it. They were finally going to have a nice, proper ceremony and she made a dress for it and everything...

I can see Shi very quickly adopting Era as a big sister. She seems like someone he is going to admire a lot.

The tiniest of big sisters! (unless your big sister is a lalafell or dwarf or smth ofc)

Era does her best to downplay her importance/what she's capable of, but she does have a pretty admirable personality. Reading Shi's info, they're pretty similar in the sense that while Era doesn't like. dislike herself. she also doesn't value herself very much. She's Hydaelyn's weapon and exists for others, not for herself. And while she's gotten better at it over the past ten months or so with Aymeric's help ... yeah.

If it's relevant in Gen, Era also might find his whole 'inhabiting the body of a dead kid' thing a bit disconcerting if she ever cottons on to it- not the possession part! But the body-is-dead part. She's no stranger to zombies (of the gentlemanly kind) but idk. Those were all grown ass men, not little kids (kami or no kami)

Maybe they can help better themselves by seeing their problems in each other. Shi doesn't even entirely realize how much he disrespects himself.

And he agrees that having a kid's dead body is weird! No one in Genessia thus far seems to agree with him, so he will actually be comforted that someone else is bothered by it. Makes him feel less like he's just being overly sensitive and selfish.

Maybe! Thus far Aymeric has been doing a pretty good job. Her main issue is that she doesn't really see herself truly as a person - more like just a weapon to be used. Though she does her best! Definitely has improved since being away from her Warrior of Light mantel for the past almost-year.

Speaking of which - you mentioned in another comment on here that Shi is spiritually sensitive, or something of that ilk? Would he pick up on the fact that Era has been given a ridiculously strong blessing from her world's creator-mother, and/or the traces of god-like aether that has blended with her own? :'|a more like an added bit of flavour. souvenir of slaying gods and what-not.

FINAL QUESTION LMAO but how tall is Shi? I'm going to assume still physically looks like a 10 y/o if his body is dead?

And yeah Era can't revive the dead, but she might try and heal the wounds of his body if she notices them. It might be possible to sort of brute-force heal using her own aether, since it's essentially life energy? IDK that would be a way-far-in-the-future possibility though

And he miiiiight. Shi doesn't like using his spirit senses too much, because then he becomes aware of his own gunky curses. But he may down the line notice it and be confused!

He's physically around 13, but still a short kid. Shi's "it's complicated" comes from the fact he could age his body. And he did subconsciously age and live normally before he realized how did he is. Then he turned 13 and learned "The Truth," and made that truth a reality.

And he definitely needs healer friends down the line, since Shi doesn't know how to fix himself.

Looks like the low-end of average for a 13 y/o boy is 5'3-4"! So I imagine closer to 4'10"-5'0"-ish? ~~i like knowing eye lines for action tags sssssshh~~

But yeah like, if his body is/was technically growing I don't see why Eorzean healing spells wouldn't work. Obviously not as effectively... but yeah. I WILL HAVE TO SEARCH FFXIV LORE !!! Which probably has nothing about this sort of thing but who even knows haha XIV lore is ridiculous fff

There definitely isn't a shortage of healers in Gen from what I've seen thus far! Maybe he'll be able to make more healer friends :)

And yes, I imagine it would work! The only wound Shi hasn't been able to heal eventually is the stab on his back from his initial death. But that's a matter of him subconsciously keeping it there, because he hasn't gotten over it.

Healers are everywhere~ It's just a matter of trusting them. But I can see him trusting Era.

Oh!! Right. If she learns that Shi stores his bad luck energy in his body... I think in his intro post you had mentioned somewhere in meta prose that he's considering finding something to put the energy into that isn't his body? Cause Era has some unaspected crystals on her, which would probably absorb energy pretty well :|a

That could actually be really useful! Thus far, Shi hasn't found something to put his curses in that he's comfortable with. If Era could help with crystals to start, I'm sure it would lead to him exploring more options like them.

They do! Though ngl I'm more stoked for their respective Lilies (Eos/Selene) to meet each other tbh. That would be very trippy

And also maybe the only giveaway that Era is a Warrior of Light, since it's. not ... something she advertises... She is very happy staying on the down-low in Gen haha

yeah! 2 people mentioned Aeslyn and Scions but admittedly Era clued in that they must be from different Eorzeas pretty quickly since she would have recognized her name otherwise (with the assumption that someone who wasn't a Scion would never make a Scions group in Gen haaha) but she might check it out eventually. She's got a permanently summoned Carby following her around (remnant of CRAU) which is a big giveaway to being from Hydaelyn. I mean, if being an Au Ra wasn't obvious enough alskghj

I am super slow but I'd love for her and Terra to become friends! I think they have a fair amount in common besides being totally adorable Final Fantasy girls :p and liking flowers. Terra had infused a rose with her Esper magic the last time she was in Genessia and she might do that again if Era is interested in learning about that.

I think they'd get along well too! Botany is one of the very few non-combat skills Era has, so it would be awesome for her to make a friend who is interested in flora as well. ;u; And magic is an amazing bonus! She's a major magic nerd, having mastered all forms of it available to her in Eorzea thus far and is always up for learning more about other kinds of it. *u*

And don't worry about speed! I've gotten very very accustomed to incredibly slow tags over the past year so it's no bother for me to wait. Especially when interesting CR will come of it! :)

Terra is half Esper which is a race that's made completely out of magic lol. So it'd be interesting for that to somehow come up in conversation.

It would certainly be interesting! I think the closest thing to an Esper in XIV are the Primals, which Era is sort of in charge of killing... haha..ha... But they're like evil horrible Eikons/Summons so nbd. Otherwise pretty much every living being is comprised of at least some magic, since the magic in XIV is aether, which is synonymous with life energy.

She's also slain a version of Kefka as like one of the last memories she has of her original world, actually. The FFXIV developers made this entire raid tier a sort of ode to FFVI. The previous tier was all FFV stuff (final boss of it was Neo-ExDeath). The concept is basically a tournament of worlds, and the Warrior of Light is pitted against antagonists from famous 'stories' around a great many universes.

Lots of crossover from other FF games are everywhere in XIV but never has it been so in-your-face as this tier hahaha

Yes. I know a little bit about 15 because I know a little bit about all Final Fantasy games. Also they're all a tiny bit similar in some way. Espers in Terra's world are also hunted but they're used as weapons or power sources. She's the only one of her kind who is half Esper and by the end of the game all the Espers leave her world. It's pretty interesting.

That sounds cool. Terra was Kefka's puppet so she probably won't talk about him, it hits a little to close to home and she knows that dead might not be dead.

Fun fact: Kefka is the only villain of the core games to archive his end goal. (Tho he still dies after that)

Yeah! I played VI back when I was really young and it was called FFIII on the SNES haha. I don't remember a whole lot about it but I've sort of relearned some things through osmosis (thanks to RP and the rampant VI fans playing XIV). I've kept meaning to replay it because I was too young to really appreciate how unique Kefka was as a villain.

Makes sense! The Phantom Train, Chardanook, Guardian, and Kefka Era fought were all simulations based off of fairy tales. It's been a pretty clever way to bring game-specific bosses into a raid tier, I think. Definitely rekindled my interest in VI, and the last tier made me want to play FFV!

Yes! I suggest you play the GBA version of 6. It's honestly the best one out there.

It could be interesting for sure! Era's spent a lot of time telling orphans about the adventures she's been on (censoring out the more uh. not super kid friendly stuff i.e. deaths and whatnot) but she's definitely not one to talk about love stories (romance never occurred to her until recently after the longest of slow burns)! And girl talk is not something she's good at either kjghag haha though she's made friends who have tried.

But stories about god slaying or exploring ancient cursed ruins and whatnot are fair game if someone inquires!
